The apartment is in the attic floor of a private house built in the 1970s. The ground floor has since then been a home of an older couple whereas the attic has been later on renovated by their two grown-up sons and their families to use as a vacation home for the weekends.

The basic disposition of the floor plan was determined by the existing load bearing walls. By not adding any additional walls and even eliminating a few we managed to open up the space and create a bright and comfortable environment.  The materials used were mostly local stone and wood to create a bit of a rustic feel.

The biggest challenge was hiding the partial incline of the pitch roof which we solved with a double-depth kitchen and other custom-made furniture.
