In remodelling an existing single-family house, the main goal was to make an already large but dark and compartmentalised original house open and flooded with light. Theoretically the shape of the house is quite complex, divided in three sections, all stacked right next to each other, each with a differently inclined pitched roof.
The modifications made to the exterior of the house were minimal, the biggest was reconstructing a part of the roof to equalise the inclination of the south slope and at the same time enlarge the master bedroom. The rest was mostly insulation added to the existing outer walls, new window frames, added perforated metal panels to match the northern façade with the southern and landscaping around the entire house. Internally the house needed bigger interventions. The entire floor plan of the house was reconfigured to enlarge the living areas and let the once small and tight spaces breath.
