Ice cream parlour - Gelateria
The formal concept of the design was creating a familiar and cosy space, a space that would remind people of an old “Italian gelateria”, a space that would itself look like a pastry or cake.
Since the space was very small and the owner had the need of a service space in the back as well (storage, refrigerators, etc.), the idea was to eliminate the front part of the mezzanine to create height and to add a narrow hidden staircase to get to the back part of the mezzanine. With the high ceiling in the front and the mirror on the side wall the place feels more spacious and airier.
