After graduating from Interior Design Institute in Milan, Zana graduated from the Politecnico di Milano (a 3+2 Bologna programme) in cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana, under the mentorship of prof. Peter Gabrijelčič in 2007.

She began working for the architectural office Enota until joining Gaser Arhitekti in 2008.
